Ode to Camelot, lost.

Not for the dreams, I go to Camelot
but for the lessons it has taught.
Where, knights tell deeds at a table round
of lives lost and glory found.

The Holy Grail, a quest brought about
for knights filled with boredom and doubt.
Arthur, through Merlin's wise advice
ordered knights to seek the grail at any price.
Only the pure of heart and mind
could bring back the scared find.
The golden cup was found they claim
yet none could produce that artifact of fame.
For to touch the scared chalice it is said
renders the soul free and the body dead.
This they say happened to the purest knight
his body to dust and his soul enraptured by light.
The Holy Grail still remains hidden today
no other knight seeks it out, they say.
For though they claim to do deeds of just
their words speak more of greed and lust.

Not for dreams, I go to Camelot
but for the lessons it has taught.
Where, knights tell deeds at a table round
of lives lost and glory found.
